4) What should I bring to my cake consultation?
Here’s a quick list of the important things to bring to your Cake Sensations consultation:
The date and time of your event.
The name & address of the venue where your event will be held, including
contact names and phone numbers.
The number of guests expected to attend.
Whether the cake be served as the main dessert or as a snack.
Bring along any color swatches, samples or any other item you may be using
as the theme of your event.
If you’d like the cake to be decorated to resemble your wedding dress,
please bring a high quality picture of your dress.
A list of flowers that you’ll be using (if already chosen, otherwise
flowers can be decided on later).
Bring your appetite as you’ll have many samples to taste!
Cash or cheque for deposit purposes (we also accept email transfers).

5) Can we have more than one flavour in our wedding cake?
Cake Sensations will certainly accommodate your request for more than one flavour at no extra charge. back to top
6) Can you make sugar flowers to match my bouquet?
Yes, Cake Sensations can make virtually any kind of sugar flower. back to top
7) Will you use fresh flowers on my cake?
You have several choices to choose from. Cake Sensations can source and arrange the flowers for you, OR, If you would like to use the same flowers your florist uses for the bouquet, you can order extra flowers from the florist and bring them to Cake Sensations to arrange, OR, Your florist can make the arrangement and Cake Sensations will place it on your wedding cake. back to top
8) Can we keep the top tier for our 1st anniversary?
Cake Sensations cakes keep quite nicely if frozen in a Tupperware Brand container. Many of our brides have done so and discovered that the top tier tasted as fresh as it did on their wedding day. back to top
9) Can you create a cake from a picture I have?
Yes, Cake Sensations can certainly create a cake from a high quality picture. back to top
10) Do you make nut-free cakes?
Although we cannot guarantee nut-free cakes, whenever requested in the past, Cake Sensations has never received any negative feedback. back to top
11) Do you make gluten-free cakes?
Yes, we make gluten-free cakes that even taste good!! Cake Sensations gluten-free cakes come in vanilla, lemon, orange, chocolate and chocolate hazelnut. back to top
12) Can you use my cake stand?
That would depend on the strength of the construction of the stand. If you bring it in we’ll evaluate the cake stand and let you know. Some of our cakes weigh over 450 lbs. back to top
13) Would you make a cake using my family’s special recipe?
Cake Sensations reputation is built on great tasting cakes that look amazing. If we were to use someone else’s recipe, we wouldn’t be able to ensure that the two pillars of our reputation are maintained. The cake ingredients affect the taste as well as the texture and strength of the cake, which in turn influences the performance and appearance of the decorating. That’s why we stick to our own recipe for success. back to top
14) Do you sell traditional cake toppers?
Cake Sensations makes a variety of custom cake toppers. If the bride & groom select a traditional cake topper we’d be pleased to incorporate it into the design of the cake. back to top
15) Do I have to purchase the cake plates?
Most of our supporting cake plates are loaned to you by Cake Sensations. A security deposit is required and is fully refundable as long as the plates are returned in their original condition within 3 days of your event. Some cakes require more elaborate plates and pillars which are available for rent. back to top
Orders
Orders can be placed over the phone or by email. Wedding Cakes and large Celebration Cakes are generally ordered during the consultation and tasting appointment. back to top
17) How far ahead shall I book?
The earlier you book, the more likely you are to reserve your place in our schedule. Our clients typically book their Wedding Cake or large Celebration Cake between 6 -12 months prior to their special day. If your date is closer than 6 months away, please feel free to give us a call and we’ll let you know if we can accommodate you. back to top

Payment
19) What is your payment policy?
For Cake Sensations Wedding Cakes, large Celebration Cakes and orders of $500 or more, a 25% deposit, with a $200 minimum, is required, to confirm the order. The balance of the order is payable in full at least 6 weeks prior to the scheduled delivery date. For smaller cakes and orders of less than $500, 50% is due upon order and the remaining 50% is due at least 2 weeks prior to the scheduled delivery date. back to top
Delivery
20) Will you deliver the cake?
Cake Sensations offers a delivery and set-up service that includes arranging
extra table clothes or overlays, placing flowers, candles and petals that
are provided, at no additional charge. Each tier of the cake is transported
separately and assembled on site. Finishing touches and details are then
applied. This is done by a cake decorator, not merely a delivery person
to ensure that your Cake Sensations Cake is perfect. The cost for this
service varies according to the location of your venue. back
